5 Mindset Shifts That Will Completely Transform Your Life

You are going have to continuously work on shifting your mindset to embrace new perspectives if you want to become a more positive and accepting person. Nothing worth doing is ever easy, and neither is shifting your mindset.

In this post, I’m sharing the different ways that I’ve changed and shifted my mindset over my life to improve myself in positive and successful ways.

Keep in mind that I am no master of these things, it takes time to learn just like everything else in life.

Of course there are going to be times when I ignore my own advice, and chose to wallow in self-pity, but eventually I come to my senses and I am able to pick my self up thanks to these mindset shifts!

5 Life-Changing Mindset Shifts

Things Will Always Get Better

I like to think I am a pretty optimistic person, I feel lucky that I tend to have a positive outlook and life situations!

I have had tough situations in my life just like everyone else, but I am always able to keep moving forward, trusting that things will get better. I like to think that if I work hard and don’t give in bad situations tend to work themselves out!

When I was at a place in my life where I felt lost, and I had no idea what I wanted to do, I tried my best to keep moving forward, and finally I ended up where I am today (which I am pretty pumped about if I do say so myself)!

In the end, everything fell into place and I was given the opportunity to create my dream job and life (aka, healthful hearts).

Better things always come along, you just have to trust that if you keep your head don and push through you will end up on top.

Enjoying the process while working toward goals

I know I talk about mindfulness quite a bit, and mindfulness is all about being focusing on the present, but how are you supposed to do that when you are always working towards your goals, aka the future.

It’s an interesting paradox that I struggled with for a while. This is such a common situation, that I struggled with for a longtime. However, I started to realize that while yes you can set goals for the future, you have to be focused in each moment and step of achieving your goals. Hence, making you present in the moment.

I hope all this is making sense.

Before I had this so called realization, I always would try to get my projects over with as quickly as possible, trying to reach the end result. But I now know that is not a good way to lice life, you have to be able to enjoy the process of reaching your goals, or else you are going to miss out on all the in between.

These days when I’m working towards a goal, wether is is a personal or career related, I always try to make sure I am present and enjoying the process.

I have to be honest with you, I have found that I am much less cynical when thinking about how long something is going to take when I know I will be trying best to enjoy the process, it make s a huge difference in my attitude towards chord and projects.

Reflection is important, so I’ve started doing weekly and monthly check-ins with myself to stop myself from charging ahead into the future.

Focusing on strength over weakness

I think it is really to get stuck inside your own head, and dwell on your weaknesses, I have found that it is easier for us to think about the negatives than it is to think about the positives, which tends to be more challenging for us.

At least for me this is true.

I am lazy.

I am not good enough.

I get distracted too easily.

I am a serious introvert.

I am stubborn.

I struggle with opening up.

Once I get on a roll it can be hard for me to stop. These thought are much easier for me to say, than:

I am enough.

I am beautiful.

I work hard for what I have.

I am a nice person.

I am fun.

I am unique, and that is a good thing.

These thought are much harder fr me to come up with, let alone write down.

It is so important to push yourself to think of your strength rather than your weaknesses, over the years, I’ve found that it’s much more productive and beneficial (especially to your mental health and wellbeing) to truly focus on increasing my strengths than getting rid of my weaknesses.

Even though I know I am stubborn, I listen to those I love. I’m definitely lazy sometimes, but I do work hard on things I care about, and are truly important.

Of course you should try to be a better person in every way that you can, but there are parts of you that you simply don’t have to worry about so much about changing. Of course you should always try to be a better person,a nd improve yourself as a whole, but it is always more beneficial to focus on your strengths, rather than dwell on your weaknesses.

Now that I know I should be focusing on leveling up my strengths, I find I worry 100% less about my weaknesses, and I have found that my relationship with myself became a lot better.

Spending less time worrying about the past

The past is in the past and there is nothing I can do about it.

I am not going to lie, being able to really come to terms with this has been hard for me, I used to be the person who would really (and I mean really) dwell on the past.

In my opinion there is absolutely nothing productive about wishing you could change the past.

All you can do is move forward and learn from your mistakes.

Optimizing what’s in your control

I have found that a lot of people tend to think about the future, more than they probably should. Now, even though I am not one of these people I want to touch on this quickly because I think it is important for you to know how to optimize whatever is in your control, ad let go of everything else.

You have no control when it comes to your future.

I know this is most likely a n absolutely terrifying statement. I don’t want to be too cynical but a meteor could hit earth tomboy and we could no longer exist. I am not saying you should live you life in fear, but you should accept that what is going to happen will, and you can’t always control it.

All you can do is make sure that you are living up to your fullest potential right now, at every moment of everyday.

That is all you can do!

Are you living up to your greatest potential, right now?

There are actions you can be taking right now, you need to try and focus your energy and time, on what you can do and accomplish now, instead of worrying about what the future will look like!

Taking action in the moment is definitely 100% more productive than spending time overthinking situations that haven’t even happened yet!
